Robin Jenkins

Maybe it's my nature-inspired name, but I've known for years that I want two things in a job:

to work outdoors and to help animals. With this goal in mind, I graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Zoology from Oregon State University in 2013. My career has focused on

wildlife field research, conservation efforts, and science communication.

I've worked on projects studying butterflies, salmon, terns, and woodpeckers,

but condors and sloths held a little extra spark for me.

My condor internships lasted 15 months through Ventana Wildlife Society and the US Fish and Wildlife Service. These endangered birds captivated me with their struggle for survival. While observing them, I quickly came to appreciate condors as unique individuals and regard them as a species truly worth saving.

My sloth work took place in Costa Rica for 2 years with The Sloth Institute. I started my day leading educational tours through the rainforest and spotting sloths in their natural habitat. Afterwards, I tracked and researched wild radio-collared sloths and watched over rescued sloths learning how to be wild again.

With extensive firsthand knowledge about these two particular species, I want to give people of all ages a better understanding and appreciation of condors, sloths, and how we can contribute to conservation efforts.
